New partnership to provide PR and media services to cultural communities
PR specialist Ann Gibbon and former Vancouver City Councillor BC Lee join forces to help multicultural and English-language organizations tell their stories to each other
Vancouver, March 30, 2015 – PR firm Ann Gibbon Communications has teamed up with BC Lee, of marketing and PR firm fireglo.ca, to help clients reach cultural communities via ethnic media, and guide multicultural organizations in getting English-media coverage.
“Vancouver’s diversity has helped it grow and prosper,” says Gibbon. “But organizations that market to multicultural communities could miss out on opportunities if they lack the language skills or cultural sensitivities to tell their stories in the right way.”
BC Lee says, “Through our respective language skills, contacts and experience, Ann and I want to link cultural groups together by communicating their news as effectively as possible.”
Lee, a Vancouver City Councillor from 2005 to 2008, is vice-president of marketing and PR firm fireglo.ca. He is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese and has been a PR professional for over 20 years.
Gibbon is a former Globe and Mail business journalist who has worked with large PR agencies and has operated her own consultancy for over 10 years. She is co-author of an award-winning book on a Montreal grocery empire and speaks French.
Together, they offer:
- Media Relations.
- News conferences and media tours.
- Event Planning.
- Translation Services in Chinese and other languages.
- Ad buys and advertorial services.
- Social media strategy.
