Goal
To raise awareness among parents of the importance of immunizing children against strains of meningitis they don’t get vaccines for in school.
Tactics
We organized a mom bloggers’ event and invited prominent local mom bloggers, along with a doctor and a parent who tragically lost his son to the disease. The bloggers posted information about the topic on their sites and tweeted during the course of the event.
Results
The session was educational and emotional, particularly with the parent’s input. This highlighted the “influencer event” as a non-traditional, social media-driven means for an organization (a vaccine maker) to get its message out effectively to a highly targeted audience.
